On the 24th February 2018, Billericay Town Football Club dedicated their match against Wealdstone to Matthew.
Before the match, blue and white balloons were released in memory of Matthew. Even though the outcome of the match wasn’t amazing (BTFC 2 – 5 Wealdstone), a lovely day was still had by all and the atmosphere was great.
This was not only a beautiful and heartwarming way to remember Matthew, but has also helped to raise awareness of our project, Matthew’s Voice.
Matthew’s voice is aiming to raise £25,000 to support people dealing with mental health issues & suicide loss within Essex. We want to help local people by giving them the support they need.
We aim to raise money through various fundraising events, which you can view on our events page.
Below are some photos taken by Nicky Hayes on the day of the match. These photos show the true community spirit of the day, and it was beautiful to watch so many people come together in support and memory of Matthew.
